Local SEO
For most local Ahmedabad businesses, the Google Business Profile decides more of your visibility than your website does. It's what shows up in the map pack, in Google Maps searches, and in the panel next to organic results — and an incomplete or neglected one is still the single most common reason a genuinely good local business stays invisible to new customers searching cold.
This is a complete, practical checklist — not general advice, but the specific things to actually go check and fix on your profile today.
Local search results are ranked on three signals Google talks about openly: relevance (does your business match what was searched), distance (how close you are to the searcher), and prominence (how well-known and well-reviewed your business is). Your website barely factors into two of these three. A complete, accurate, actively maintained Business Profile is doing most of the work your website usually gets credit for.
Profile completeness
Category selection is one of the highest-leverage, most commonly rushed steps. Your primary category should be the single most specific match available — "Digital Marketing Agency" rather than the broader "Marketing Agency," for example, if that's genuinely the most accurate fit. Add secondary categories only where they're genuinely true of your business, not as a way to appear in more searches artificially — Google penalizes profiles that look like they're gaming category matching.
Ten photos is a minimum, not a target to stop at. Profiles with more recent, varied photos consistently get more clicks and direction requests than sparse ones — customers use photos to judge legitimacy and quality before ever visiting your website. Prioritize real photos of your actual space, team and work over stock imagery, which Google's systems and human reviewers alike are increasingly good at recognizing.
Add photos regularly, not just once
Ask right after a positive interaction, every time
Send your direct Google review link immediately after a completed job or purchase, while the experience is fresh — not weeks later as an afterthought.
Respond to every review within 24-48 hours
Thank positive reviewers by name and mention the specific service. This isn't just good manners — response rate and recency are both signals Google's systems and prospective customers both notice.
Respond to negative reviews calmly and specifically
Acknowledge the issue, avoid being defensive, and offer to resolve it offline. A thoughtful response to a bad review often reassures a prospective customer more than five generic five-star reviews would.
Never buy reviews or incentivize them with discounts
This violates Google's policies directly and risks the entire profile being suspended — a risk that isn't worth whatever short-term boost it produces.
Google Business Profile posts expire after seven days, so treat them as a lightweight, recurring habit rather than a big content project. A simple weekly rotation — a new service highlight, a seasonal offer, or a recent completed job — keeps the profile looking active without requiring real production effort each time.
Most businesses ignore this section entirely and let random public questions accumulate with wrong or missing answers. Proactively seed it yourself with 5-10 genuinely common questions and clear answers — pricing ranges, service areas, response times — rather than waiting for customers to ask and risking an incorrect public answer sitting there for months.
Watch for these on your own profile
Weekly: respond to any new reviews, publish one post, check for new questions in the Q&A section. Monthly: add 2-3 new photos, verify your hours and details are still accurate, and check that your name, address and phone number still match your website exactly. This routine takes under an hour a month once set up and is often the single highest-return hour spent on local marketing.
A well-optimized profile works alongside — not instead of — a properly built local SEO strategy on your website. See our practical system for Google Maps visibility for how the two connect, or get in touch if you'd like us to review your current profile directly.

Most local visibility advice is a list of tricks. This is a diagnostic system — the four signals that actually move the map pack, and how to audit each one.
Choosing an Agency
Anyone can build a nice proposal deck. The questions worth asking, the red flags to walk away from, and what trustworthy pricing actually looks like.
On-Page SEO
A page that ranks but doesn't convert has only done half its job. A framework for building pages that satisfy intent, earn trust and move a visitor to act.
